A recent report discusses the psychological harms associated with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) surveillance in patients with cirrhosis. The study conducted surveys and interviews with patients to measure depression, anxiety, HCC-specific worry, and decisional regret. The results showed that psychological harms were mild but varied depending on the test results.
