Abstrakt: A recent meta-analysis conducted by researchers at Heidelberg University in Germany examined the risk and incidence of endocrine immune-related adverse effects (eirAEs) in patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy for solid tumors. The study analyzed 69 randomized controlled trials involving 42,886 patients and found that the risk and incidence of eirAEs, such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, hypophysitis/hypopituitarism, adrenal insufficiency, and insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, were significantly increased under ICI therapy. The combination of ICIs was found to increase the risk of eirAEs, particularly hypophysitis/hypopituitarism. The research highlights the importance of monitoring and managing these adverse effects in patients receiving ICI therapy. [Extracted from the article]
