The greatest possible spread of technologies for the safe disposal of waste, recycling of various goods and the use of spent organic matter as fuel is constantly being promoted around the world. This is a necessity, given the increasing number of burials, the existence of which spoils the soil and atmosphere. In this context, it is necessary to consider the studies of recent years that have given significant results on the selection of optimal raw materials and conditions for the production processes of various biofuel fractions. At the same time, the methods of using organic raw materials of both animal and plant origin, in combination with various additives in the form of other waste fractions for their joint processing, were analyzed. The experience gained in different parts of the world, based, among other things, on the peculiarities of the fractional composition of waste from specific regions, will be useful as a guide in the development of new technological processes with commercial potential.
