This article provides an overview of the current state of medical device regulation in Europe and the UK. It discusses the implementation of new regulations in the EU and the challenges faced by both the EU and the UK in regulating medical devices. The article also addresses the regulatory landscape resulting from the UK's exit from the EU and the potential impact of the Medicines and Medical Devices Act 2021. It highlights the need for clearer definitions and stronger security requirements in the regulation of medical devices' cybersecurity.
