This article, published in the journal Colorectal Disease, presents a case study of a laparoscopic redo endorectal pull-through procedure for a complex rectovaginal fistula after rectal resection for endometriosis. The patient, a 36-year-old woman, initially underwent rectal resection and colpotomy for intestinal endometriosis but developed complications postoperatively. After three months of follow-up, a low rectovaginal fistula was diagnosed, and the patient opted for a pull-through procedure instead of an ostomy. The article highlights the feasibility of omitting a protective ileostomy in pull-through procedures but emphasizes the need for surgeons to be aware of procedure-related complications.
