A recent study conducted by researchers at Yunnan University of Chinese Medicine explores the effects of resveratrol on macrophages after they have phagocytosed Candida glabrata, a fungus that can cause various human ailments. The study found that resveratrol, when combined with micafungin, can restore the proliferative activity of macrophages and inhibit their apoptosis. The researchers also observed that resveratrol can reduce reactive oxygen species levels and regulate the expression of inflammatory cytokines in a dose-dependent manner. This research provides insights into the potential clinical application of the resveratrol-micafungin combination in treating Candida glabrata infections. [Extracted from the article] |
