Abstrakt: Researchers from the University of California have conducted a study on cell surface receptors, specifically focusing on the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) and its effect on neuropilin-1 (Nrp1) expression in CD4+ T cells. Nrp1 is known to be expressed on regulatory T cells and activated effector T cells, and its upregulation has been associated with immunopathology. The study found that AhR activation inhibits the upregulation of Nrp1 on CD4+ T cells, particularly in proliferating and IL-2-responding cells. This research suggests that Nrp1 could serve as a marker for CD4+ T cell activation and that AhR ligands may modulate effector CD4+ T cell responses through the regulation of Nrp1 expression.
