Researchers at Zagazig University in Egypt have conducted a study on colon cancer, which is a leading cause of death worldwide. The study aimed to identify markers that could predict the prognosis of the disease. The researchers assessed the expression of three proteins, PD-L1, Beclin 1, and Fascin 1, in colorectal cancer tissues and found that their expression was significantly associated with adverse prognostic factors.
