Researchers at the University of Raparin in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, conducted a study on the effects of metoclopramide and hyoscine-n-butyl bromide on colon motility. Metoclopramide is commonly used to treat gastroenteritis with vomiting, while hyoscine-n-butyl bromide acts as an anticholinergic agent. The study found that metoclopramide, both alone and in combination with hyoscine-n-butyl bromide, increased colon motility and induced the release of acetylcholine. The research suggests that metoclopramide could be a potential therapeutic option for gastroenteritis with vomiting. The study also analyzed the physicochemical properties of hyoscine-n-butyl bromide and metoclopramide molecules. [Extracted from the article] |
