Abstrakt: Nature has many resources that are continuously used by human for many purposes. Among these, one most important source of nature is the natural products. In this article we discuss about the potential of natural products (especially plants extracts) in the synthesis of nanoparticles. There is significant variation in the chemical composition of plants in different regions of world. Due to difference in the chemical composition, different nanoparticles have different effects and applications. Recently, biological approach in the synthesis of nanomaterials gained a great attention of researchers. Plant extract is of great importance as it has ability to reduce and stabilize metal nanoparticles in single-step synthesis using phyto-chemicals present in plants. The green approach to synthesizing nanoparticles has many advantages, like environment friendly synthesis, non toxic, zero contaminants, simple, and do not involve hazardous chemicals, cost effective, large scale production. This article provides an updated review of synthesis of metal and metal oxide nanoparticles (like, silver, zinc, iron, copper, gold, platinum, titanium) using plant extract their morphology, size and applications.
