Abstrakt: Chitosan polymer nanocomposites have been prepared based on bentonite clay in the acidic condition. The different concentrations of chitosan and bentonite clay have been optimized and 10:1 ratio of chitosan and bentonite clay respectively has been further loaded with sulfentrazone herbicide. The alcoholic media has been selected for the addition of sulfentrazone herbicide. Three various ratios of sulfentrazone active material like 3.14:1, 1.26:1, 1:1 (chitosan clay: sulfentrazone) have been used to prepare the nanocomposites of chitosan clay sulfentrazone. Chitosan-based nanocomposites of sulfentrazone have shown encouraging improvement in various physical properties like temperature resistance, surface property, and many more. The formation of chitosan clay sulfentrazone nanocomposites has been further confirmed by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Thermal behavior of the chitosan, clay, sulfentrazone and different ratio of composites have been studied through differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermal gravimetric (TGA), and surface morphology examined by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM).
