Topics include the issue of criminal punishment addressed by the Italian government on various occasions in 2022, the interim report of 2012 by the United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur on torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment, Juan E. Méndez, and criminal punishment under international law addressed by the Italian government in another aspect.
