The physical phenomenon of thermodiffusion is the transfer mechanism that occurs when a thermal gradient is applied to a mixture. It is known as “the Soret |Effect”, of which much experimental and theoretical work has been done to interpret it scientifically. This article briefly presents a one-dimensional theoretical and numerical approach, based on the first law of thermodynamics, of the concentration distribution of the NaCl in a salinity-gradient solar pond. The theoretical developments aim to frame its fluido-thermodynamic factors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
