Abstrakt: A study conducted by researchers at the University of Michigan investigated the effects of gender-affirming testosterone treatment on in vitro fertilization (IVF) outcomes using a mouse model. The study found that testosterone treatment decreased egg yield but did not affect egg quality. IVF outcomes were fully recovered for the short-term testosterone treatment group after a two-week washout period, but not for the long-term treatment group. The researchers plan to further investigate the effects of testosterone treatment on multiple generations of mice. This information can help inform conversations between doctors and patients regarding the decision to halt testosterone treatment before IVF. [Extracted from the article]
