A recent study conducted by the University of Toronto explored the feasibility of a resilience-focused mobile application called JoyPop for use with Indigenous youth. The study involved five Indigenous youths who used the app for four weeks and provided feedback through pre-test questions, weekly usage surveys, and post-test questions. The participants reported a positive impression of the app, found it easy to navigate, and indicated that they would recommend it to a friend. However, they expressed a preference for in-person problem-solving over the social connection feature of the app. The study recommends further research with different groups of Indigenous youth and the involvement of Indigenous designers in creating a culturally appropriate version of the app. [Extracted from the article] |
