A study conducted by Xi'an Jiaotong University in Shaanxi, China, investigated the safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary pharmacodynamics of a new local injectable anesthetic called Ropivacaine oil delivery depot (RODD). The study found that RODD can slowly release ropivacaine and provide long-lasting nerve block. The researchers determined the optimal dose and range of nerve block for RODD and observed that it was safe with no severe adverse events. The study also compared RODD to a ropivacaine hydrochloride injection and found that RODD had a sustained release effect and longer duration of nerve block. Overall, the study concluded that RODD was adequately safe for subcutaneous injection in healthy subjects. [Extracted from the article] |
