A study conducted at Henan University of Chinese Medicine in China has developed a new method for efficient and safe delivery of miR-34a, a tumor suppressor gene, using a modified polyethylenimine (PEI) carrier called BA-PEI. The BA-PEI carrier demonstrated effective gene delivery and transfection performance, with a favorable compaction of miRNAs into positively charged nanoparticles. The study found that BA-PEI-mediated miR-34a gene transfection was more secure and effective than commercial transfection reagents, offering a novel approach for miR-34a-based gene therapy. This research provides valuable insights into cancer gene therapy and its potential applications. [Extracted from the article] |
