Abstrakt: Researchers at Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China have conducted a study on the potential mechanism of curcumin in regulating osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells. The study found that curcumin can promote osteogenic differentiation and treat osteoporosis by regulating certain genes in the Wnt/beta-catenin pathway. The researchers used network pharmacology, protein-protein interaction, gene ontology, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes, and molecular docking to determine the target genes of curcumin. They also found that low concentrations of curcumin were not toxic to the cells and enhanced osteogenesis, while higher concentrations inhibited osteogenic differentiation. The study provides valuable insights into the potential therapeutic applications of curcumin in treating osteoporosis. [Extracted from the article]
