A recent study conducted by researchers at Babcock University in Nigeria examined the factors associated with a decline in the quality of life of individuals after maxillofacial fractures. Maxillofacial fractures are common and are typically treated by oral and maxillofacial surgeons. The study found that age was the only variable associated with a deterioration in quality of life, with younger patients experiencing more negative psychosocial consequences. The researchers emphasized the importance of psychosocial rehabilitation, particularly for younger patients, in order to improve their quality of life. [Extracted from the article] |
