Abstrakt: A systematic review conducted by researchers at Western Sydney University examined the perceptions and experiences of older adults receiving community palliative care. The review included nine qualitative studies involving 98 participants and identified four synthesized findings: older adults redefine what is normal and appreciate life lived, experience isolation and loneliness, face challenges managing symptoms and medical costs, and desire to receive palliative care and die at home. The study emphasizes the importance of effective communication, collaboration between staff and services, and policy advocacy for trained palliative care staff to optimize care outcomes and provide compassionate support.
