This document is a discussion of a study on asphalt-cement materials for the seismic isolation layer of shield tunnels. The study investigated the physical and mechanical properties of the materials through laboratory tests and numerical simulations. The results showed that the properties of the materials improved with an increase in the cement percentage. The authors also discussed the importance of grouting in shield tunneling and recommended further research on the grouting mechanism.
