The edge detection is used to improve the healing rate for skin wounds by using the Sobel method. This work presents a comparative study of accuracy between two different edge detection algorithms, the Sobel method and Prewitt transform method. To perform edge detection, Sobel method and Prewitt transform method were applied to 12 wound images with image size (256 x 256). The group 1 with 12 samples of Sobel transform and group 2 with 12 samples of Prewitt transform are taken with G power 80 % with an error correction of 0.5. It is observed that the Prewitt method of edge detection algorithm has higher accuracy of 90.10 % in wound healing rate than the Sobel method accuracy of 88.90% with the significance of 0.01. It is found that the Prewitt method gives significantly better accuracy of healing rate compared to the Sobel operator. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
