This article discusses the development of a cobalt-catalyzed enantioselective alkynylation reaction for oxabicyclic alkenes. The researchers optimized the reaction conditions and found that chlorobenzene as a solvent and CoBr2 as a catalyst resulted in the highest yield and enantioselectivity. The method was successfully used to produce a variety of chiral cyclic homopropargylic alcohols.
