Abstrakt: This article discusses a case study of a complication that occurred during the process of making customized earplugs and earmolds for hearing aids. The patient accidentally had silicone injected into their middle ear and Eustachian tube, which resulted in erosion of the carotid canal. The article emphasizes the importance of taking precautions and protecting the eardrum during the ear impression process to avoid serious complications. It also suggests that intra-aural 3D scanning of the external auditory canal may be an alternative solution in cases of tympanic perforation. [Extracted from the article]
