A recent study conducted by researchers from the Benemerita Autonomous University of Puebla in Mexico has found significant associations between certain single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and type 2 diabetes (T2D). The study analyzed complete mitochondrial DNA sequences from 1261 T2D patients and 1105 control individuals. The findings suggest that specific mtDNA polymorphisms may be linked to T2D, potentially related to association rules, topological patterns, and three-dimensional conformations associated with regions where changes occur. This research provides valuable evidence for understanding the genetic factors contributing to T2D. [Extracted from the article] |
