Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by the Department of Pharmacy at Al-Zahrawi University College in Iraq focused on the genetic mapping of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in the country. The researchers aimed to identify common biomarkers associated with T2DM in Iraqi patients by conducting a systematic review and meta-analysis of published data. They identified 31 genes in 41 studies that exhibited the most common biomarkers associated with the risk of T2DM in Iraq. The study provides valuable insight into the genetic variations of T2DM in Iraq and lays the foundation for future research in personalized treatment options. However, the study is limited by the sample sizes of some included studies, highlighting the need for further investigation into potential genetic markers for T2DM in Iraq.
