Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, China, explored the effects of an internet-based self-help mindful self-compassion intervention for parents of children with cancer. The study involved 34 Chinese parents who received a 6-week intervention and were assessed for self-compassion, post-traumatic stress symptoms, depression, and sleep quality. The results showed significant improvements in self-compassion, re-experiencing, physical depressive symptoms, and sleep quality. However, two participants reported negative experiences, highlighting the need for further discussion on improving retention rates in future studies. This research provides evidence for the feasibility and effectiveness of delivering self-help interventions through the internet for parents of children with cancer. [Extracted from the article]
