Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at Tehran University of Medical Sciences examined the risk of secondary cancer induction in patients with trigeminal neuralgia who undergo gamma knife radiosurgery (GKRS). The study measured radiation doses to the uterus, ovaries, thyroid gland, and eyes of 25 female patients. The results showed that the mean doses to these organs were smaller than their tolerance doses, indicating that there is no limitation to treating trigeminal neuralgia patients with GKRS. This research provides valuable insights into the safety of this treatment option. [Extracted from the article]
