A recent study conducted by investigators from the University of California Irvine explores the relationship between functional brain networks and memory performance in older adults with amyloid-beta (Aβ) pathology. The researchers found that functional networks with modular and efficient structures were associated with better memory performance in individuals with Aβ pathology. This suggests that these functional networks could be a potential target for intervention to support memory resilience in older adults. The study was supported by the NIH National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at UC Irvine. [Extracted from the article] |
