Abstrakt: The American Ornithological Society (AOS) has announced the recipients of the 2023 Early Professional Awards. Glaucia Del-Rio, Carrie Branch, and Sara Lipshutz have been recognized for their outstanding work in the field of ornithology. Dr. Glaucia Del-Rio, currently a Rose Postdoctoral Fellow at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, is studying the avian diversity in Amazonia. Dr. Carrie Branch, an assistant professor at the University of Western Ontario, focuses on the evolution of communication and cognition in North American chickadees. Dr. Sara Lipshutz, an assistant professor at Loyola University in Chicago, studies the evolution of behavior and female competition in birds.
