Abstrakt: The clinical case report describes the application of the 3D printing process for the production of long-term provisional restorations in patients with dental hard tissue defects. It is emphasized that the newly adjusted vertical dimension should be tested before the final treatment. The case report describes the use of the intraoral scanner Cerec Omnicam for digital impression taking and mentions a filling therapy and a revision of the root filling during the splint pre-treatment. The long-term provisional restorations were made from polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) using the 3D printing process. The article emphasizes the advantages of 3D printing in dentistry, such as the economical production of complex and aesthetic restorations as well as the optimization of workflow.
