Optically active dithiophosphoric and dithiophosphonic acids bearing glucofuranose and galactopyranose diacetonide substituents reacted with racemic atropine to give atropinium dithiophosphates or dithiophosphonates as the mixture of diastereomers. Dithiophosphoric and dithiophosphonic acids and their atropinium salts possess antimicrobial activity. SYNOPSIS: Optically active dithiophosphoric and dithiophosphonic acids bearing α-D-glucofuranose and α-D-galactopyranose diacetonide substituents reacted with racemic atropine to give atropinium dithiophosphates or dithiophosphonates as the mixture of diastereomers.
