Abstrakt: The countless developments in the agricultural sector and plant health development under multiple environmental stresses attract for sustainable management of crop production. The applications of copper (Cu) and Cu-based nanoparticles (CuNPs), based on the earth abundant and inexpensive copper metal extensively graining importance in recent years. Metallic nanoparticles are a new class of materials with applications in medicine, pharmaceutical and agriculture. Copper is one of the most-found elements and plays an important part in the normal functioning of organisms. CuNPs has superficial antibacterial properties and use in dis-infective ointments, when comparing them to ordinary antibiotics. Moreover, apart from their antibacterial role, antifungal, antiviral and anticancer properties offer a potential agent for human health. In agriculture sector, CuNPs play vital role in soil, cyanobacteria (blue-green algae), and paddy crops management such as rice plant. CuNPs module plant growth promoting activities in various cyanobacteria and different algae and modulate photosynthesis and photosystem status. The present review explores the current development on biosynthesis of green CuNPs using different biowaste- products. This further elucidate CuNPs potential impacts on the uptake, translocation, distribution and biomass production of algae and cyanobacteria. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
