Abstrakt: Echinacea purpurea is a medicinal plant commonly used for stamina enhancement and various diseases treatments. The purpose of this research was to determine the influence of various intervals of watering on the growth of specific three accessions of E. purpurea. Echinacea purpurea genus has a high diversity based on morphological characters. Meanwhile, Indonesia experiences a regular drought season which cause climatic inhibitory factor as environmental stress for plant growth. This research was done to identify the effect of drought stress on various level for Echinacea purpurea growth with watering intervals as treatment. The study was conducted in Jumantono Screenhouse, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta on March to August 2020. The experiment used a completely randomized design (CRD) factorial with accession as first factor with 3 levels (accession 1, accession 2, and accession 3) and watering interval as second factor (once a day (C1), once every three days (C2), once every five days (C3), and once every seven days (C4). Each treatment combination was repeated 5 times. The variables observed were morphological characters (stems, leaves, flowers, roots, and seeds) and growth parameters of E. purpurea. Accession 3 shows the best results on all observed variables except for the harvest index and is recommended as drought tolerant accession. The level of drought had a significant effect on the growth of E. purpurea plants. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
