Abstrakt: Method: The study population consisted of all the parents and teachers of students in the district 4 of Tehran. The sample size was determined to be 23 subjects based on the theoretical saturation. The data collection tool was semi-structured interview, and the data analysis technique was thematic analysis. Findings: The findings show that 'the fluidity and virtualization of thinking/learning, the multiplicity of authorities for forming religious/educational identity, the acquisition of group prestige and sense-making, the weakness of transferring the cognitive values and skill values of religion, static and conservative understanding of values, religion aversion and weakness of religious beliefs, and weakness in reconnecting oneself with family values' are among the components that lead to the generation gap among the students under study. Conclusion: The results of this study show that students' static understanding of values as the most important internal factor, and weakness in the transmission of religious/educational values as the most important external factor has resulted in generation gap among them. Therefore, by designing soft educational tools appropriately, we should transfer the cognitive values and skill values of religion to reduce this gap. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
