Abstrakt: |
The article discusses a collaborative effort between field biologists and zoo vets to rebuild an extinct platypus population in the Royal National Park, New South Wales. Known as Norris and Kombucha, two of the released platypuses may have bred, exceeding expectations for this conservation project. Taronga Zoo played a crucial role in housing and preparing the animals for their reintroduction into the wild, with plans to expand their facilities for future conservation efforts. |
