Abstrakt: The rise of multi-drug-resistant pathogens levies a threat to human society, and the microorganisms are resistant to almost all the antibiotics used. The feebleness of the antimicrobial agent increases when the microbes form biofilms. Thus, the options to treat these microbial infections are becoming limited and ineffective due to antimicrobial resistance and biofilm formation, making the infection more persistent. Therefore, there is an immense need to find an alternate source of antimicrobial agents with a different mode of action against the microbes. Nanoparticles are good antibacterial agents due to their physicochemical properties. Green synthesis of nanoparticles from seaweed polysaccharides and nanomaterials from seaweed polysaccharides are intensively studied for their beneficial properties against microbial infections, making them an excellent source of antimicrobial agents. This review focuses on the antimicrobial, anti-biofilm, and anti-quorum sensing properties of green synthesized nanoparticles and nanoformulations of seaweed polysaccharides. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
