(An incomplete diagnosis means that the individual may have been diagnosed with a condition that they do have, but the condition is part of the more impactful primary fetal alcohol spectrum disorder diagnosis. Acknowledgment of the roles that loss of culture and the impact of systemic intergenerational racism have in the causation of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder is important, particularly when discussing the complex social context that surrounds fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.
