Abstrakt: The article focuses on Teotihuacan writing in Classic Maya literature, arguing that it is a set of graphic signs, whereas writing2, its corresponding language, is a set of graphic signs related to a specific language. It reports that Mesoamericanists describe Teotihuacan writing1 as a regional predecessor of Nahuatl writing1, which includes a well-understood writing2 subsystem. It states that the current corpus cannot determine the corresponding language of Teotihuacan writing2.
