The article gives a brief analysis of the hydrological and climatic features of the Far Eastern seas from the viewpoint of their exposure on the concrete freezing mechanism in structures of port facilities. Monitoring of the concrete working conditions in the zone of variable water level determined an actual concrete freezing mechanism, which depends on the external conditions and the freezing temperature of the concrete. All port facilities of the Far Eastern seas have two patterns in the zone of variable water level, which differ in the concrete freezing mechanisms. The hydrological conditions of the Far Eastern seas, which emerge mainly under the influence of the Pacific Ocean, create a microclimate for the concrete in tidal areas. The monsoonal climate of the Far Eastern seas and the long coastline affect the air temperature in the seaport locations, which in turn has an impact on the mechanism of the concrete freezing under long-lasting icing conditions.
