Fuzzy gannet optimization based harmonic mitigation in solar fed distribution system.

Abstrakt: Since solar power penetration has been rapidly enhanced over the past few decades, the issues based on power quality maintenance are considered as the most significant concern. In distributed generation systems, various power electronic components are capable of generating harmonics which causes extreme harmonic distortion. In order to ensure better power quality when distributed on the consumer side, it is necessary to maintain the level of harmonics. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel Fuzzy Gannet optimization (FGO) algorithm to mitigate the harmonics and to enhance the power quality in the distributed generation systems. The significant role of the proposed system is to attain the photovoltaic cells by compensating the harmonics with real power injection. The proposed system uses a shunt active power filter that supplies non-linear electric load connected in parallel. The shunt active power filter is incorporated along with the FGO algorithm to increase the power quality thereby effectively compensating the harmonic distortions. The proposed FGO algorithm is compared with various other existing algorithms to verify the efficiency of the system. In addition to this, the performances based on (with and without) grid interfacing controllers are evaluated. The experimental results are performed and from the result analysis, the efficiency achieved for the proposed FGO based harmonic mitigating technique is 94.3%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
