Abstrakt: Nickel oxide (NiO) nanowalls were deposited on nickel foam by a simple chemical bath deposition followed by silver-decoration via an electrochemical method. The electrochemical deposition process was carried out in a two-electrode cell by applying a constant cathodic current. During urea oxidation reaction (UOR), the Ag-decorated NiO nanowalls provided the current densities of 10 and 25 mA cm−2 only at 1.40 and 1.43 V, respectively, which denotes on facilitated electron transferring by utilizing Ag nanoparticles (Ag NPs). The Ag-decorated NiO also exhibited good stability during performing UOR for 1800 s. The results showed that the introduction of Ag NPs significantly enhanced the UOR kinetics at high current densities. Based on the results, Ag NPs have promoted performing UOR on the surface of the NiO nanowalls by extending the specific surface area along with facilitating electron transferring throughout the surface which the latter has shown a greater contribution.
