The learning styles presented by the students of the State University of Milagro (UNEMI), Ecuador, were identified, whose results were the product of a descriptive, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, from the application of the Honey-Alonso CHAEA Questionnaire applied to 60 students, which facilitated its contrast with performance, through a quasi-experimental design. Four learning styles were considered: active, reflective, theoretical, and pragmatic and age and gender were incorporated as complementary factors. The sample was divided into two groups: control and experimental. The treatment was applied to the latter, and the control group worked in the traditional way. The study allowed to know that the Theoretical and Pragmatic Styles have emerged as modes of high preference, while the indicators Formulation of hypothesis, Graphic representation, and Transfer, have been observed as the preferred ones. Likewise, moderate correlations have been identified between Transfer-reflective Style, Transfer-Theoretical Style, and Recovery-Active Style; and it has been statistically demonstrated that the experimental group has manifested a significant improvement in performance compared to the control group.
