Abstrakt: This paper presents the result of the application of the technical requirements for voice performance on 6 selected voice major students of the Department of Music, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, having noted the problem of poor professional performance by voice performance students. This was done in order to find out how proper training on the technical requirements for voice performance can bring about positive output in the teaching and learning of Voice and voice performance. The participants were six randomly selected voice major students from the diploma one class of the Department of Music, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, who were exposed to the learning process for eight weeks. The diploma students were used for this study to ensure the avoidance of involving voice students that are already used to a particular teaching method for voice. Random selection of the students was also done to avoid bandwagon result from the exercise. Data for the work included secondary sources, participant journals, group and individual interviews. Findings suggest that a successful career in voice performance can be achieved when the technical considerations involved in singing are studied and carefully adhered to. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
