This paper investigates several heuristics to speed up the analysis of srlife, an open-source receiver structural life estimation package. srlife is designed to integrate into existing CSP design and optimization software stacks. Therefore, including a fast but reasonably accurate assessment of the receiver structural life into design optimization loop will lead to improved designs and a better understanding of the system lifetime repair and replacement costs. This paper assesses of several heuristics using two reference receiver designs, one operating in high temperature regime and one in low temperature regime. The results indicate that the computation cost can be reduced by several orders of magnitude without a significant reduction (less than 10%) in the accuracy of the receiver structural life estimation.
