The present study consists of the numerical analysis of heat and mass exchanges for dry air heating by a binary mixture evaporation of water and glycol (ethylene or propylene) liquid film streaming along one plate of insulated vertical channel. The governing equations in both phases coupled to boundary conditions are solved using an implicit finite difference scheme. Parametric analysis has been performed on the evaporation of two mixtures taking into account the effect of the input parameters and their effectiveness on the direct air heating. The obtained results display that, the ethylene glycol-based mixture was able to heat the air better compared to propylene glycol-based mixture. The glycol content in the liquid mixture has an effective enhancement in the mass and heat exchanges between the air flow and liquid film. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
