Many Rural based Drinking Water Supply (SPAMDes) have to deal with several problems, such as lack of the management capacity, insufficient water sources, and infrastructure damages. SPAMDes Tirta Sari is one of the SPAMDes in Yogyakarta Province having the aforementioned problems. In such condition, EPANET can be used as a computational method to optimize the water distribution system. This research is aimed to study on the hydraulic performance of the water distribution networks in SPAMDes Tirta Sari by using EPANET simulation. In this research, major head loss of the pipe was calculated using Hazen Willliams formula. Simulation were divided into 6 models and two scenarios. First scenario was to analyze the pressure head and the flow velocity on each nodes for the existing condition, while the second scenario was for the condition in which the network extension happened. The result showed that pressure head and the flow velocity at some nodes were lesser than the minimum criteria from Ministry of Public Works. After the extension condition was simulated, number of the nodes that did not meet the criteria was increased. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
