The article presents information related to the orthopedic therapy of cerebral palsy. The authors point out that children with cerebral palsy usually have deformities of the arms and legs. Mild cases of cerebral palsy can be treated in traditional ways but if the deformities are permanent orthopedic surgery can be considered. But, in some cases of extensive contractures and irreparable joint deformities, even surgery is ineffectual. The authors discusses the significant role of orthopedic surgery modern rehabilitative and preventive medicine. Two separate categories of orthopedic surgical treatment are considered by the author. |
