Surrogate model to predict dominant frequencies of flow-induced rod vibrations.

Abstrakt: This article presents a research of flow-induced vibrations of the flexibly-mounted rod. Using Singular Value Decom-position the surrogate model has been developed. The excitation force which is strongly related to the surrounding flow velocity and rod support stiffness were selected as design parameters. The influence of two design parameters on dominant oscillation frequencies was analysed. The analytical model of the mass-spring-damper system was used to find the input-output maps of the parameters at the sampling points. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
