An antenna described in this article is a dielectric resonator antenna that is compact and lightweight (DRA). It features a 28 GHz frequency range and a bandwidth of 2.8 GHz. To make up the composite construction, there are two quadrants of hemispherical-shaped dielectric resonator antenna (HDRQ) and a rectangular-shaped dielectric resonator antenna is used. The DRA can be excited to the proper magnitude and phase for radiation using a submissive microstrip slot aperture (MSA) linked feeding method. Analysis of the return loss, gain, bandwidth, E-field intensity and radiation pattern can be done using CST Simulator. Approximately 7.5dBi of peak gain can be expected from the antenna as proposed. Future 5G applications would benefit greatly from the antenna arrangement described here. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
